Electricity LMP Predictions

GitHub Link

As a project for my final class at Northeastern University, Machine Learning and Data Mining 2, we had to implement two topics throughout the semester on a dataset.

My partner and I decided to track and predict LMP (Locational Marginal Price) of electricity. In simpler terms it is how much the next megawatt of electricity costs for its power grid.

We found this topic interesting as it had gridstatus.io contained real accurate time series data for the electrical grids throughout the US. This project was taking place before the US placed tarrifs on Canada for electricity and our main concern was the unpredicitablity of the prices after they would take place.
